I enjoyed hearing FMB Northern Ireland Director Professor Martin Haran & Dr Alice Owen University of Leeds exploring the NI retrofit landscape. Positives include social landlords leading energy efficiency, and Belfast City Council Retrofit Hub work to get Belfast delivering the national retrofit strategy #FMBConf

The Financial Times points out this morning that the UK's housing stock is 'older and less well-insulated than that almost any other nation in Europe'. More than £10bn - or £390 per household - could be saved on energy bills if leaky homes were properly insulated.

Article on the quality of social housing stock. The same standards need to be upheld in the private rented sector. Access to quality housing should not be a privilege in the U.K. in 2022.

NIFHA Chief Executive Seamus Leheny closes what was a very successful Development & Asset Management conference. We need to secure #netzero funding that other jurisdictions are getting that we are missing out on. #NIFHADAM23 #housingassociations #socialhousing

Lack of stock, poor quality stock, unregulated lettings and the growth in short term rents all impacting the private rental sector. Rental affordability is a huge challenge across NI.
