Essential reading from Tim Sahay & Bentley Allan of the Net Zero Industrial Policy Lab on what a Trump presidency means for the green transition. While the US will likely fall far behind in the race to clean energy, there are many forces that will continue the push towards decarbonization.

Talk about burying the lede--beyond the transition, the bigger issue is Trump's signalling he wants to use the Presidency for his own personal profit and interest. nytimes.com/2024/11/09/us/…

Good piece from John Burn-Murdoch but the key question is why voters only hear progressive culture messages when Biden was about material results for workers & Harris avoided DEI. I’d say Trump/Rs & media played up exactly those divisions, distorting & radicalizing in the process.

Reading Ta-Nehisi Coates “The Case for Reparations” for my Georgetown SFS undergrad proseminar “Money & Markets” & filled with awe that this is what I get paid to do. theatlantic.com/magazine/archi…

Super important read--particularly for those that think it is simply about Democrats needing to "get the word out" about their better economic policies. Complex cultural dynamics in play, all intersecting with economic polarization.nytimes.com/2024/11/21/opi…

It has been a long journey. I’m thrilled to announce that I have accepted a tenure-track Assistant Professor position at Cornell Government! So many people from Nebraska, Truman, Forensics, Wisconsin, Georgetown, and LSE have helped me reach this point, and I’m extraordinarily grateful.
