Last week the Girls STEAM Team visited Centennial College to learn more about their #skilledtrades options. We explored some cool learning spaces including electric buses! 🚎 And we learned how to solder! So cool!

Our school's Black History Month assembly was last week, and my class contributed some wonderful Google Draw mosaics of inspiring leaders to highlight black joy, brilliance and resilience.

Today Beaumonde Heights Junior Middle School celebrated Itn’l Women’s Day w/our Girls STEAM Team showcase! Classes visited us in the Library Learning Commons to learn about IWD & the amazing shoebox repurpose projects by OUR incredible young women! The projects & infographics evoked much convo! 🚺

Sikhs have been in Canada for over 125 years, overcoming racism and exclusion, including the Komagata Maru incident of 1914, where Sikhs were denied entry into Canada. Today, Sikh Canadians continue to contribute in all fields, from politics to medicine.

Seva means selfless service—helping others without expecting anything in return. Sikhs believe in serving their communities, whether through food drives, helping the homeless, or disaster relief efforts. How can you practice Seva in your school today?

I tip my cap 🧢 to the team, which committed to 8 practices a week for a month to improve their game and compete for a banner. They put in the work, improved immensely, and played phenomenal volleyball. Unfortunately, we lost today in the quarter-finals to end our season.

From the Eiffel Tower to the CN Tower-our classroom was transformed into a miniature world of architectural wonders! 🌍🏗️ Huge congrats to our Gr8 Girls STEAM Team for crushing their builds. The final showcase was nothing short of spectacular! 🔥 #STEAMSuccess #FutureEngineers

It was fantastic to have author and poet Wali Shah visit with our students and inspire them to share their story and write ✍️ to be seen with vibrancy and emotion. We were also lucky to exchange books and take a selfie 🙌🏻🙌🏽❤️

What an exciting experience! I’ve taught in this amazing community for 25 years and today was a first. Thanks to Principal Mr. Buall for crowning me with a dastar—I felt powerful, proud, and connected. Most importantly warmly applauded by the students when I strolled on stage.
