Surveying an important Toad breeding site last night, it was Sad the lake bank is suffering badly from erosion by dogs jumping in and out along the bank.
Volunteers/staff have laid dead hedging is being used to protect spots where spawn is laid in an effort to limit damage

In July, decisions were made by Natural England NW which has resulted in an unprecedented outcome in modern times.

0.5ha of the Dee Estuary SAC is now set to be destroyed on Wirral. Wild Justice have been helping to reverse this nationally significant precedent.

This woman’s dog was off its lead The Turf Exminster. She let it run into the mud flats where it caught and killed a Brent Goose! I used strong language to show my displeasure. Still fuming. 😡😡😡RSPB Exe Estuary & Darts Farm Devon Loves Dogs Devon Wildlife Trust RSPB South East Devon Wildlife

You don't need to plant trees on floodplains as the river will deliver the seeds for trees as long as river & floodplain are connected. Let's stop planting trees please when nature does it 100x better for biodiversity

Article on Freshwater Sponges (6 UK spp) details sponge-feeding inverts. Larvae of Spongeflies (related to Lacewings) eat soft tissue. Some larval Caddisfly spp with tough gut lining also ingest hard sharp sponge spicules, as do larvae of a Chironomid Pond man Freshwater Biological Association (FBA)

Thread: Tadpole Shrimps are found in only 1 pond in England + this dog is running through it, potentially leaching in notonectid flea treatments.
Thankfully Freshwater Habitats Trust are sampling ponds to see if there is any contamination, hopefully these products will be banned anyway as

When I woke up this morning I didn't think I'd be identifying tree snot to win a 8 Out Of 10 Bats mug!
If you are wondering how I knew, its because I filmed some hatching many years ago, back before I knew what I was doing + how to edit video!
