Top 7.7% of earners now paying more than half all Irish income tax and USC. Top 10 multinational groups account for 60 per cent of corporate income tax. This level of concentration is insane, and the extreme opposite of fiscal responsibility. irishtimes.com/business/2024/…

Disgraceful that neither Frankie Daly nor Sarah Beasley turned up for this debate (despite previously agreeing to the date). Are they just not taking this seriously? #LimerickDEM

#rteupfront @boylesports are now offering odds on the race for Limerick's first directly elected mayor. The contest is wide open, but only 7 candidates have a statistical chance of winning. I'm surprised at how poorly the two sitting TDs (Quinlivan and Leddin) are doing. #DEM

Column in Limerick Post today on last week's Mayoral debate is well worth a read (yes, my recommendation is biased 😉). Excerpt below, full text at limerickpost.ie/2024/05/30/cou…

Ensuring the future of our rural communities is a top priority. Infrastructure, transport, safe road and local childcare are paramount in keeping our county vibrant and engaged. #MayorForAll #BackingButler

Couldn't agree more. Mayor is a 5 year term, and he bailed from LDA and Department of finance after 2.5 and 3.5 years. #directlyelectedmayor

Well said. Maybe as well off let the IND into gov and have another election quickly to get rid of them. All good in their own right but if they cannot get a majority government will stall with no decisions passed

Mary Lou's ability to dodge questions is failing even worse than her party in the polls. She can't explain how she will fill the €10bn hole after scrapping carbon tax. She can't explain how she will form a gov without FF or FG helping her. Claire Byrne has her on toast.

People keep telling me that what I've said about universal design has changed their perceptions of disability. Specifically, the design of services and spaces across the county that benefit EVERYONE. This video is my short explanation of "universal design". #radicalcommonsense

I can't agree, in the last week I've spoken to friend and colleagues about who is best for mayor. 2 friend engineers who worked for John Moran, Mayor of Limerick would never work for or with him again. Can he really deliver or bring the council together?
