This is why I worry about eugenics & coercion within Assisted Death programs It’s sold to people as a way to save money while also being “compassionate” The system forces disabled people to live in legislated poverty, how much could it save by “suggesting” MAiD to them?

Brain tumours in acquaintances are adding up. Told about another one today. Like 30yo, had a seizure a few months ago and then diagnosed with it. Another, a man, between 30-40, had new onset mental health issues as the only sign

NEW ARTICLE from me for Find Us @FAIR at Mastodon.World:

A critical deep-dive into a controversial NYT story by Katie Engelhart about a disabled woman's assisted suicide.

I find: lapses in journalistic ethics, ableist framing, medical misinfo, propaganda, and more.

Link to free story. I discuss long-established guidelines for reporting on suicide, why they exist, and how The NY Times threw them all away for a sensationalized, dangerous justification of suicide. 2/ fair.org/home/how-nyt-m…

I dive into statements by the author, Katie Engelhart, who has made a career out of journalism that is supportive of controversial practices and who parrots the propaganda behind them. 3/ fair.org/home/how-nyt-m…

I ask if Engelhart considered her role in her subject's suicide and examine how she used language and imagery in biased ways. And I expose *serious factual inaccuracies* around her understanding of chronic illness and medicine. 4/ fair.org/home/how-nyt-m…

I'm grateful to Find Us @FAIR at Mastodon.World for letting me bring my perspective as a disabled journalist to this article. We need more disabled journalists! Thank you for reading and sharing. fair.org/home/how-nyt-m…

1/ New research reveals a concerning link: prenatal SARS-CoV-2 exposure might impact a baby's brain development. This isn't just about acute illness; it's about potential long-term effects on cognitive, communication, & motor skills. #COVID19 #ChildDevelopment #PublicHealth

If these guys jumped out of a car and grabbed you on the street in Indianapolis or Tampa, would your first thought be that they are government officials? Would compliance be your natural reaction??

BREAKING: MIT just completed the first brain scan study of ChatGPT users & the results are terrifying. Turns out, AI isn't making us more productive. It's making us cognitively bankrupt. Here's what 4 months of data revealed: (hint: we've been measuring productivity all wrong)

180 yrs later, it’s the same thing with masks. Masks work to lower instances of airborne illness. The covid vax alone isn’t enough to protect/prevent. Think Swiss cheese model of risk assessment. We’re not wrong for fighting for masks in healthcare settings. We’re early. lol

Some of us develop ME after Covid. Others already had it & Covid made it worse. Covid raises ME risk 8x, new cases 15x higher than before the pandemic. It’s a biomedical crisis demanding urgent attention. recovercovid.org/news/recover-s… #ME #LongCOVID
