More than 70 UoL School of Medicine medical students from Liverpool Paediatric Society gave up their Saturday to have a paediatric conference at @alderhey / 🏥 Alder Hey 💙Res Raised money for charity, learned stuff, and even fed me! The futures bright! The kids are more than alright

The Alder Hey Research and NIHR Alder Hey Clinical Research Facility (CRF) are fab. More certificates of their general excellence!

🚨CRF national teaching 🚨 Next Wed (6th March) we have Professor Ann Daly (Newcastle University) to discuss ‘Drug induced liver injury - genetic aspects and paediatric relevance’. 1200. Teams. Free Want the link - email [email protected] or DM

Ended up being a first aider for elderly man hit by car last night. I don’t do much acute stuff any more so mostly followed instructions from the police & paramedics. Big thanks to both the Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service teams - arrived really quickly & managed it brilliantly

Here’s a systematic review we published a couple of years ago, around adverse effects of montelukast in children When Paeds Pharmacologist (Dan) and I aren’t tinkering with fantasy football teams, we do actually do some work 😂 bmjpaedsopen.bmj.com/content/bmjpo/…

My current take home - adverse life experiences in childhood (poverty, loss of a parent, etc) have HUGE impacts. One is bad. Multiple worse. I think I knew this already - but the quantitative data supporting it is compelling. Now how best to help? #ARCFEST24 NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) West

The official Alder Hey Research hoodie has arrived. Feel moderately less scruffy and part of the team!

Congratulations to Paediatric Medicines Research Unit and Louise Bracken - well deserved

Getting ready for Dr. Louise Oni and her rare disease ecosystem in children’s kidney diseases #LATSS2024

Input from University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University around treatment development for Alkaptonuria at LifeArc International impact #LATSS2024

Now we have Dr. Louise Oni from University of Liverpool / Institute of Life Course and Medical Sciences talking about her new LifeArc translational research centre #LATSS2024

Fantastic spread of talks at the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology (BJCP) 50th anniversary celebration, and this discussion of Generation R Liverpool young person's advisory group is enlightening. Clinical pharmacology has changed beautifully over 50 years to become more inclusive. #AtTheEquatorUG

'Nothing about us without us' - showcasing the vast range of possibilities to involve young people in clinical pharmacology research including co design and participatory approaches. Much to reflect on! #AtTheEquatorUG Jenny Preston (Mrs D’Arcy in personal life) Paeds Pharmacologist (Dan)
