Was at NBA All Star Game Saturday Night festivities in February. Seeing Bill Walton on the sidelines was the highlight for me. Kind enough to reply to an email I once sent him. Loved his pony tail with the Blazers, his tie-dye shirts, and his enthusiasm for life. Thank you, BW.

Dick Barnett, who’ll be inducted this month into Naismith HOF, is 88 today. We lived in same hood when he was a Knick. Soon after retirement, we played in schoolyard. Winners out. At 9-0, he rose for his distinctive springer & hooted, “In Gary, Indiana, we call this a whitewash.”
