Apologies for confusion over date of meeting . .looking forward to the debate with Southeastern . Hope to see lots of commuters making their voices heard.
At the Royal Borough of Greenwich Transport Scrutiny panel tonight with Linda Bird, Lauren Dingsdale and colleagues to put the case against the planned changes to Southeastern train services from #eltham
Action is needed now on #shootershill to prevent more accidents & protect pupils at Christ Church School I’ve written to Averil Lekau today & set out how Royal Borough of Greenwich can fund this urgent work now & make our community safer. 🧵I have written to the Transport Secretary Mark Harper following last night’s serious overcrowding incident at London Bridge station to request an urgent meeting with him. Read my letter here:
Like so many I’ve been appalled by this weeks chaotic scenes at London Bridge - myself & Cllr Anthony Okereke warned Southeastern this would occur in October. I’ve written to Steve White expressing my concern about safety & the wider negative impact of timetabling changes on commuters
Victory! Following my question today in parliament the ministers announced that we’re getting back off-peak Charing Cross trains on the Southeastern Bexleyheath Line SEnine Magazine
At the RBG Transport and Regen scrutiny panel with Linda Bird. Great that Southeastern responded to pressure from us and Clive Efford 💙 to restore hourly off-peak services from Eltham to Charing X. More work to be done though to connect Eltham residents to the Elizabeth Line
The Tories’ “hands off” Home Office has badly let both communities and policing down. That’s why Keir Starmer has made restoring confidence in policing & criminal justice system central part of Labour’s mission on crime theguardian.com/politics/2023/…
