Following last month's Budget announcement, Dove House Hospice faces a £500k funding gap due to employer National Insurance and minimum wage hikes. With the hospice sector already facing a £60m deficit, sustainable funding is urgently needed. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Thank you Peter Lamb MP 🌹 and Joshua Reynolds MP for raising questions about the hospice sector in today's PMQs. While the PM’s recognition of funding challenges is positive, sustainable funding is urgently needed and we look forward to working with government to find a solution.

I am elated by this announcement from Wes Streeting & Stephen Kinnock regarding hospice funding. As co-chair of the Hospices APPG, I thank Hospice UK & @brumhospice for working closely with me, and I will now be asking the Govt to set out a long-term plan for hospice funding in the UK.

After a breakfast session on cyber security giving me plenty to think about the main event now starting with Steve Thorlby-Coy (he/him) opening Hospice UK ##HospiceTechLeaders conference.

Thank you Stephen Kinnock for having us and ensuring the voice of the hospice sector is heard. We look forward to continuing to work with the government on a sustainable, long-term funding solution for hospices across the UK.

#HospiceTechLeaders the first ever hospice technology conference just kicking off in Manchester. Event is sold out! Am looking forward to advancing my pretty low levels of understanding. I know what we need. Hoping to find out how we get the intelligence Hospice UK

At Health and Social Care Committee, I asked Centre for Mental Health’s Kadra Abdinasir about mental health support during the transition to adulthood. For many, reaching adulthood becomes a cliff edge for support. We must do better to ensure continuity and care for young people when they need it most.

Black people are four times more likely to be detained under the Mental Health Act, a shocking inequality that cannot be ignored. On #InternationalWomensDay2025, I asked Dawn Butler ✊🏾💙 to mark the day by recognising that tackling these disparities must be a priority.

#Oliverscampaign Would my wonderful followers join me in congratulating Philippa Spicer MBE who has been awarded an MBE for her work on Oliver’s Training She drove Oliver’s training alongside side me through adversity She stood beside me & never gave up I will always be grateful to her x

Hospice and end-of-life care should be available to all, now and forever, as Paul Jennings rightly explains. With growing demand, sustainable funding is essential. Thanks to Hospice UK for tirelessly championing hospice care and pushing for long-term support.
