I've just listened to this podcast. Will Hutton once again proves that he is one of the greatest thinkers in British politics. A synthesis between socialist ethics and enlightened individualism is needed now more than ever. A revival of social liberalism is long overdue.
As the actual Liberal Democrats candidate for London Mayor in 2021, I'm urging everyone to vote for our excellent candidate Rob Blackie πΆ on 2 May. Sadiq Khan has done nothing to deserve a third term & the Tory candidate has no chance. Make your vote count and send them both a message. πΆοΈ
I heard a fascinating discussion between Will Hutton & steve richards earlier. Will's description of a rich synthesis between the ethics of Socialism & the enlightened individualism found among the early Social Liberals (Hobhouse & T.H. Green) felt exceedingly hopeful to me
For a future Pod steve richards, perhaps you could get Will Hutton and Daniel Chandler on to talk about the future of the Liberal Left? I wonder what they thought of Ed Davey's recent invocation of John Rawls?
βWes Streeting has expressed regret over previously stating βtrans men are men, trans women are womenββ.
Why are Labour dabbling in transphobic discourses? Shame on Wes Streeting! Labour should be on the side of trans people, not undermining them! π₯π³οΈββ§οΈ #TransRightsAreHumanRights
Come together, right now... over fairer voting.
Thank you to Make Votes Matter North London for this great recreation!
