Over 5,800 calls were referred to our Alternative Care Pathways (ACP) in January, with 40% of these avoiding a trip to the ED as a result. ACPs include Pathfinder, the Clinical Hub, Community Paramedics & more, and aim to support and treat people in their homes and communities.

In March this year, our Alternative Care Pathways responded to over 1700 calls in total.

Part of the National Ambulance Service 🇮🇪🚑 initiative to keep people out of hospitals where possible and provide Alternative Care Pathways. Waterford is part of this with the Pathfinder Waterford team, Physios & Occupational Therapists from the UHW Occ.Therapy team Univ Hosp Waterford along with NAS AP’s.
