My delegation and I met with Kenya Veterans for Peace #KVP. We discussed ways to collaborate on promoting peace and security in Africa. The model of former servicemen coming together to work for peace is good and should be emulated by other countries. #Peace #TheAfricaWeWant

We were harbouring the hope that the Nigerien Army would stand on the right side of history and force the renegade coup conspirators to respect the sacred will of the people of Niger by reinstating the democratically elected government. We strongly condemn this coup d’état.

In my meeting with the Bureau of the 6th Parliament I urged Pan-African Parliamentarians to remain engaged and committed as the continent grapples with a myriad of challenges. Given the current socio-economic & political climate, Parliamentarians need to be on the ground.
