Visited the #Minnesota Historical Society today & was shown a photo from its collection of Vice-President Mondale (a Minnesota native) with one of my predecessors as Ambassador Embassy of Ireland, USA, Seán Donlon. The photo was taken on St Patrick’s Day, 1979.

Further evidence of the Irish connection with #Minnesota at the Minnesota Historical Society. The regimental badge of the 1st Minnesota Regiment which sustained very heavy losses during the American Civil War.
