While Ohio takes our economic development and West Virginia takes our experienced workforce, our governor is competing with California for solar panels. Who is looking out for Pennsylvania's interests? Read my full Op-Ed HERE โฌ‡๏ธโœ๏ธ senatorgeneyaw.com/2024/07/31/whoโ€ฆ

The #RGGI Carbon Tax is an #Electricity Tax, never approved by our citizens' elected representatives. It would increase electric bills 30%, kill jobs and not reduce CO2 in PA. Thatโ€™s why weโ€™ve stood against it from day one.

Today the #PASenate approved legislation I introduced to repeal the #RGGI electricity tax enacted through executive order by the Wolf Administration in 2019. This tax would hurt consumers and kill jobs, with no significant environmental benefit.

Thanks for having me Pittsburgh Works We had a great discussion on the essential role the reliability of our electric grid plays in our daily lives, the stark reality our state faces and the short window of opportunity we have to address this critical issue.

Like Sen. Kim Ward ๐ŸŽ€๐Ÿฉท said, Pennsylvania is an energy powerhouse. Iโ€™m looking forward to continuing our work together and advancing responsible policies that will unleash PAโ€™s energy potential. Thank you, Senator!

Ensuring responsible energy development and protecting the reliability of the electric grid are among the goals of Senator Gene Yaw, who has been reappointed chair of the PA Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee for 2025-26. environmental.pasenategop.com

The questionable agreements & feel-good programs being considered as part of the governorโ€™s energy plan are nothing but a band-aid for a broken bone. Until he abandons RGGI, it is difficult to take seriously any statement claiming he wants to ease the power deficit PA is facing.

Clearing stream obstructions prevents flooding and related damage to PA communities, and the Senate approved bills from Senator Gene Yaw giving counties and municipalities greater flexibility to do just that. bit.ly/4loGI5e

Senator Pat Stefano and I held a hearing on grid reliability as demand rises. 51 energy projects fast-tracked to add 11K+ MW by 2030. A $10B plan will turn Homer Cityโ€™s old coal plant into a gas-powered data centerโ€”25% of its power going to the grid. senatorgeneyaw.com/2025/05/12/as-โ€ฆ
