Early planning of a new game project tends to take me awhile, as I go through the primordial soup of mechanics and story beats and attempt to dredge up the ones that fit my vision best. Even then, they may change halfway through development.

I always know what I want out of a story/project that I am creating. Vague brushstrokes and set-pieces are always there. It's refining everything that's the difficult puzzle.
