Congratulations to Jeff Caring who has been promoted to Lieutenant. We want to thank his family for stepping in to present him with his epilates. This is something we would normally do at a meeting but due to covid 19 and to maintain physical distancing we were unable to.

Confirmation from Oyster River Fire that no animals were hurt. Cause of the fire was hay coming into contact with hot exhaust pipe. Crews about to leave the scene.

Unfortunately, due to COVID 19 restrictions we will not be doing our annual Fireworks display on October 31. We look forward to next year when we will hopefully be able to put on the display. Thank you for your understanding.

We will be having our annual Christmas Hamper Drive at the Oyster River Discovery Foods and Courtenay Country Market on Saturday December 5th from 10am-4pm. All donations will go to support the Bread of Life Food Bank. Donations can also be dropped off at the firehall.

As of noon on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 we will be banning all open fires within our fire protection area, This includes fireworks, sky lanterns and burn barrels. Campfires and beach fires are still permitted.

As of noon Wednesday June 30, 2021 We will be implementing a complete fire ban. This will include campfires, beach fires, fireworks, burn barrels, tiki torches and sky lanterns. CSA or ULC-approved portable campfire apparatus may be used, and the fame height must not exceed 15cm

We received a call from the OFC last night at 8pm to send a Structure Protection Crew to help out with the fire in Lytton. The crew got the trucks ready and pulled out at 4:30am this morning.

As of noon Sept.10 campfires will be once again allowed in our FPA. A campfire is defined as being no bigger than 50cm in diameter and used for warmth or cooking. You must use seasoned firewood and have water close by to extinguish the fire. All other fires are still prohibited.
