A Marsh Helleborine, native British orchid, first described in English in 1633. Since then it has lost around 60% of its range, mostly due to people destroying its habitat. Conservation status: Least Concern.

Hurrah to all who opposed the application to build a hotel, spa, pool and gym slap bang on top of Britain’s second largest colony of Lizard orchids (pictured) amidst a unique ecosystem. The application has now been withdrawn. Together we can make a difference 👏
