I participated in the meeting of the Council of Europe Action Plan for #Armenia 2023-2026.

The Action Plan aims to bring Armenia’s legislation, institutions, and practices further closer in line with #European standards in the areas of #human_rights , the rule of law and #democracy .

I had a fruitful discussion w/ the Director of Political & Foreign Affairs of the Council of Europe Miroslav Papa.
The activities carried out within the framework of the fight against hate speech, atmosphere of intolerance, discrimination & other important issues were touched upon.

On April 9, the #HRDO officially launched the process of implementing the Gender Equality Seal for Public Institutions programme.
The protection of #women 's #rights & the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women are important directions of HRD’s work.

Accompanied by the #HRD ’s staff, I visited the Abovyan penitentiary institution of the Ministry of Justice of #RA .

We congratulated women deprived of liberty and female employees of the staff of the penitentiary institution on the occasion of #Motherhood and #Beauty_Day .

Overcoming stereotypes, creating equal opportunities, promoting women's potential in social life is key to the successful implementation of the process.

On April 6 I received alerts regarding the shooting by the armed forces of #Azerbaijan in the direction of Movses, Chinar, Aygepar and Nerkin Karmiraghbyur settlements of #Tavush region.

These actions grossly violate the principles of #international_law .

As the Human Rights Defender, on the occasion of the World Autism Awareness Day ( #WAAD ) I want to remind you once again of our collective responsibility to ensure that the #rights of people with #autism are protected.

I visited the largest #Assyrian community in #Armenia , Verin Dvin community of Ararat Region, on the occasion of Kha b-Nisan, the Assyrian New Year & had an interesting and meaningful discussion.

☀️ March_21 is celebrated all over the world as the world day of “ #suns ” for people with #Down_syndrome . I would like to remind once again the commitment of the state to ensure everyone's participation in public life on an equal basis and effective social inclusion.

📈 According to a study initiated by the Center for Survey Research of the International Republican Institute , the approval rating with the Office of the Human Rights Defender increased by 11% in December 2023 compared to March of the same year.

I participated in the Board meeting of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions ( ENNHRI ) in #Vienna .

I participated in the Fundamental Rights Forum organized by the #EuropeanUnion Agency for Fundamental Rights in Vienna.

As the #HRD of #Armenia I emphasise that the preparation & dissemination of the video by the #Azerbaijani TV station with the participation of the former leadership of #Nagorno_Karabakh , kept in prison, contradicts the #internationalstandards related to the issue.
