At the Saint Viator Junior Golf Camp today the “OleGolfCoach” tried something new. At the midway break asked senior JP Wong “What Has Viator meant to you?” JP, “Best thing ever. Got closer to God. Met all my friends there.” Great guy!

Yesterday at SV Junior Golf Camp the Ole Golf Coach asked Domenic Boler “what has Saint Viator meant to you?” Preface this by saying that Domenic wasn’t there the day before. He said “got closer to God and met all my friends” Now if only I can get his sister out for golf!

Great instructional session today with two time Illinois PGA Teaching Pro of the Year Dan Kochevar. Ten Lady Lion Golf Team members benefited from his hands on teaching. Every single boys and girls star golfer over the years credits Dan for their success. Go Lions!

Also after yesterday’s ten player’s participation at The Preserve, today’s Contact Day featured returning players Frank’s, Grace and Izabella (Gia and Libby were playing in IJGa events) being joined by newcomers Rosie Katherine and Emily. Great time to be a Lady Lions golfer.

Amazing the positive news from Saint Viator Girls Golf Team Incoming Freshman Gia breaks 80 for 1st time at 2 day IJGA event with a 76. Previously her scoring average was 85.6. Reminds Coach Jack Halpin of Lily breaking 80 for the 1st time at IHSA State Finals in ‘21.

The Coach Jack Halpin walked the entire final round with our incoming Freshman Gia at the IJGA event. Really impressed with how hard she fought back with a 39 on the back nine. For two days she bested her average by 12 strokes. Loved her carrying a SV bag!

Fall sports officially begin one month from today. Let the countdown begin! 🦁
