This is a very clever and informative paper: of 99 SLT students asked to consume pureed solids and mildly thick liquids for just 24 hrs, 60% didn’t/couldn’t. pubs.asha.org/doi/abs/10.104…

Most participants were clear they couldn’t maintain the diet for any amount of time beyond 24 hr. Participants (students in good health with an understanding of dysphagia) were unable to meet basic nutritional and hydration needs for a single day.
