🔎 New research by Aston University reveals Brexit has caused a 27% drop in exports from the UK to the EU, on top of the other damaging impacts. Our businesses, communities and people are paying the price - yet Labour and Tories continue backing Brexit. aston.ac.uk/latest-news/eu…

Great to be at the John Smith Centre panel discussion at the University of Glasgow, focusing on the experiences of that remarkable Scottish independence referendum campaign 10 years on.

NEW: Scots believe that becoming independent and joining the EU would be better for the country than remaining in the UK, a major new study has found. Attitudes towards Brexit have become deeply entwined with opinions about Scotland’s place in the Union, analysis has found.

Scotland’s ‘14 referendum was a gold standard for giving people the right to choose. So much has changed! The people of Scotland want to rejoin the European family, and we’re backing them! It’s time for Scotland to have another vote and take control of its future 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💜🇪🇺

The huge irony of the No vote was the perception that it was the safe choice. Broad shoulders, steady hands. Since then the UK has gone to hell in a handbasket. Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong but the architects of the No victory will never admit it. They can't.

📢 Ten years on from the referendum and Scotland has had a decade of austerity, of Brexit, and a cost of living crisis imposed on them by Westminster.   ➡️ Instead, we can build a new economy, with solidarity and sustainability at its heart.

Focus on the future, not the past. Focus on what can be, not what could have been. Focus on convincing others, not reinforcing our own convictions. Be positive, be hopeful, be optimistic. Aye. Always.

🤷‍♂️ Oh my, clearly Douglas Ross is rattled when the litany of the No campaign’s broken promises is pointed out to him by Kate Forbes MSP. Where’s that EU membership, more prosperous economy and ‘equal partnership’ that Scotland was promised?
