Amazing to see The New York Times tell this story. We need to change the #organdonation oversight system - watch the video to learn more.

Americans wait 3 to 5 years on average for a kidney transplant. In the meantime, thousands of people die waiting. The status quo is unacceptable and we are committed to positive change. CMS Innovation Center CMSGov HHS.gov Administrator Seema Verma Alex Azar nytimes.com/2019/06/11/opi…

We've seen transformational advances in science and technology since we passed the National Organ Transplant Act, but our organ transplant system has not kept up. I’m thrilled that is finally changing thanks to tireless advocacy from patients and leaders like Jerold Mande.

.Elizabeth Warren is right. It's time to #EndTheOrganMonopoly.

How do we fix our broken organ transplant system? Break up the national organ monopoly. Listen to Dr. Seth Karp from @VUMCTransplant, Lenny Bernstein, and Jennifer Erickson from FAS is now @scientistsorg on NPR discuss how this will save lives. the1a.org/segments/the-g…

Thank you to Larry Bucshon, MD and Robin Kelly for introducing the Securing the U.S. OPTN Act today! Too many patients are dying unnecessarily due to a lack of basic accountability. This bill will make our organ transplant system safer, more effective and more equitable.

A moving and timely call to action. Thank you, Amy Silverstein, author for so bravely sharing your journey with the world.
