The Lft because when he pivots, he picks up his Rft making his Lft his pivot - its that foot that’s the questionable pivot ft.

Yes - the right foot is in compliance as it is the lead foot in the step thru - on a jump stop either foot can be the pivot. But when one of the two is lifted the other is automatically the pivot foot.

All good on this no-call decision and well documented by Chip Clark on the entire criteria for basket interference in the NBA

Any movement is so slight that we must remember the game isn’t perfect and the backboard window that may heave made a slight movement via the reflection of the glass also doesn’t make it enough for the missed shot … RN

Should be a backcourt viol- possession by teammate@who passes ball- however if the player who initially gathered ball was located near mid court line & his momentum took him into in the bckct then that would have been legal-Teammate’s catch comes from bckct.

Ronnie Nunn jaybea Ronnie this one was pretty ez bt given all the issues/confusion about diff travel rules at diff levels (esp NBA rule of 2 steps after the gather) from parents at HS games 2 peeps looking at NBA vids is there ANY discussion about returning 2 the traditional HS rule at all levels?

A gathered ball w/the foot that’s down established a pivot foot as (step1) allowing a step 2 seen in the 40’s & 50’s. There later became a 2 & 1/2 step interpretation. Finally, late 50’s pro’s evolved into a gather (0) followed by steps 1 & 2.

This is an illegal play though the ball is swirling in the hand of the dribbler - Actually that hand is below the ball & displays itself as a carrying of the ball - For that reason this should be judged as palming. carrying, or traveling w/ the basketball.

Screening contact on this play is more within the guardrails of legal screen setting. The force of the contact involving both screener & defender makes one think it's an illegal screen. It's borderline but, not illegal IMO.

Ronnie Nunn Sir as a retired NBA veteran ref, I would love your insight on this play. Also is there a new rule in the NBA deeming contact to the face on a player attempting a shot NOT a foul? Any other time at any level this is typical a foul. Thank you for your insight!

Sans a mysterious "better angle", How do you miss a clear offensive foul(Gafford lowers his shoulder, rams into Zubac, who's in leg gua pos, extends the forearm, & then call a foul on Zubac? NBA Official Ronnie Nunn
