A successful first dormouse survey of the year in Treswell Wood today. This torpid pair were in an old nest that had seen better days Notts Dormouse Group People's Trust for Endangered Species Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust #firstdormiceoftheyear

Our best April session on record, 23 #dormice in total. All good weights after emerging from #hibernation. One individual was last recorded in September 2021, not recorded at all in 2022. Wonder what adventures he's been on..... People's Trust for Endangered Species Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust Notts BAG

What a cracking day to be out in a #woodland especially when said woodland happens to be #TreswellWood, an ancient woodland, SSSI & a botanical heaven. Oh, & it supports a thriving #dormouse population. Today's monitoring recorded 19 #dormice inc. at least 1 pregnant female People's Trust for Endangered Species

Another high #dormouse count today, resulting in a total of 46 #dormice including several pregnant individuals. Nests were varied, some with green leaves, some old leaves & bark, & 1 made entirely from willow fluff π Notts Dormouse Group People's Trust for Endangered Species Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust Notts BAG Natural England East Midlands
