Just concluded my first visit to Somalia. During all meetings I signaled Norway’s strong support for Somalia’s journey towards democracy & good governance. Emphasized importance of respecting Somalia’s territorial integrity. Excellent meetings also with members of civil society.

Thanks to President Hassan Sheikh for receiving me at Villa Somalia where I reaffirmed Norway’s support to Somalia on its path to democracy and stability. Also discussed the importance of political reconciliation, collaboration on regional challenges, and climate resilience.

The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi met with a high-level delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Foriegn Affairs of Norway H.E Andreas Kravik, for a discussion on stabilisation, reconciliation and regional developments.

President Dr Hassan Sheikh Mohamud addressed over 5000 delegates from 193 member states of UN Environment Programme following the kick-off of the #UNEA6 summit in #Kenya . The President reiterated #Somalia 's commitment to tackling the climate crisis through multilateralism.
