Ultra-processed food as a % of household purchases (Europe). The UK is the only country on this map to be over 50%. And look at the huge difference between UK and France/Italy/Spain.

Keir Starmer and the Labour government has pledged £35m for overseas conservation schemes – including supporting lemurs in Madagascar - yet they are wilfully punishing the custodians of the British countryside - British farmers.

“We’ve set out a roadmap for farming which has been welcomed by farmers.” ~ Keir Starmer This is total bullshit. The Labour government’s roadmap {inheritance tax} for farming hasn’t been welcomed by farmers. It’s been wholeheartedly condemned.

Wouldn’t it be great to have a UK wide supermarket chain that only sells UK produced food with higher supermarket purchase prices given to farmers. It would also be more environmentally sustainable due to lower food transportation mileages compared to imported overseas food.

The Labour government has committed £70m to foreign aid food security while diminishing food security in the UK with inheritance tax on family farms. Shameful misplaced priorities.

Local and national governments are telling farmers to diversify their farming but local governments are then often preventing and reducing obstructing farmers when they try and diversify. Case study: Jeremy Clarkson and his farm shop and restaurant.
