Earlier today, President Salome Zourabichvili called on 🇬🇪's law enforcement authorities to ensure the safety of today's "Pride Fest". The President reiterated that the freedom of speech & expression is a fundamental human right and condemned violence and incitement thereof.

A major step backwards for freedom of expression and human rights. Pride celebration allowed to be cancelled by a few hundred demonstrators

UN condemns violence & attacks on #TbilisiPride. We call on 🇬🇪authorities to denounce this disturbing incident, to hold those responsible accountable & to take decisive steps to improve protection of the rights to peaceful assembly & expression for all, including LGBTQI+ persons.
