Long Post: It is often said that the firehouse is a “second family”. The bonds we have run deep. The members of E3/Group 3 all shaved their heads in support of NFD families that are battling childhood cancers right now. 1/3

We have several families on our department that are going through the tough battles of childhood cancer. E3/G3 wanted to share their support to those families. They all stepped up by doing a group haircut, and shaving their heads. 2/3

Long post: We are at a loss of words for the passing of one of our retired members, “Ray Mac”. Lieutenant Ray McNamara passed away today; He is a legend on our Fire Department. He was critically injured on October 25th 1993, responding to Box 6237….(1/4)

Our thoughts and prayers are with the McNamara Family and the men and women of Newtonfire_863 In 1993 Lt. Ray McNamara suffered burns to over 90% of his body at a fire on Needham St in Newton.

Funeral Mass: Saturday, January 15th @ 11:00am St. Bernard Church 1523 Washington St, Newton Uniformed members will assemble in front of the church at 1015hrs. Uniform of the day is Class-A, facemasks are required.
