It's painfully obvious that these schooldays allegations against Farage are because Reform are first in the polls. I'm sure other politicians’ classmates have stories too. The point isn't that playground bulling is okay, its just not important 50 years on.

Great article about the damage wealth tax debates will do to Britain. We're already overly hostile to business owners and farmers, why deliberately try to drive more wealth overseas?

Badenoch comes out against the "welfare state" but falters and refers to pension payments as "growth" when pressed about scrapping the triple lock. Ooh err..

Just heard a Labour Party spokesman talking about "drone strategy". I instinctively assumed he was talking about Starmer's preparation for PMQs today.

Rachel Reeves' budget was doomed to fail. Not through Labour being naturally incompetent but simply by how big our state is. They would be well-advised to cut rather than raise tax or borrow. Me in ConservativeHome ✍️

How is this unexpected? We’re about to face the highest tax burden in British history… there is nothing unexpected about this!

Interesting result. Contrary to the usual narrative of Tories defecting to Reform, this support seems driven mostly by disillusioned Labour voters. Would be fascinating to compare campaign strategy in Tory strongholds like my own in Clacton with old Labour areas like Oldham.

👀 It is increasingly clear energy policy is a disaster, and one which will be extremely difficult to reverse. 😡How the machinery of policy making came to mobilise so hard in the wrong direction should be occupying many minds. 📣The next government will battle steep uphill…

Community street art seen in a small Lancashire town: “Hope = Vote Labour”. I sincerely hope residents now understand that Labour’s performative cosmopolitanism is at odds with lower taxes, cheaper energy, or policies that work for the countryside.

Saving is crucial in affording a house deposit, but while housing supply lags and house prices keep outpacing wages, home ownership will drift further out of reach for young people. 📺Pleasure to be on GB News this morning with Eamonn Holmes OBE Ellie Costello & Stephen Carlton-Woods
