This time last week we were getting everything ready for the 3rd ⁦⁦NewLeafNetwork⁩ Conference & Award Ceremony. Now looking forward to planning next years event whilst striving to grow the network.

First day back to work yesterday. 2 hour drive to HMP Belmarsh. 2 hour wait for a client who has a rape trial on starting on Monday. The prison were unable to get him to the meeting on time. No conference. 2 hour drive back. Total pay £0.00 #thesystemisbroken

It’s inhumane and madness-inducing to keep people without a release date - behaviour WILL NEVER improve under those conditions - therefore the vicious cycle continues of no release date for the sake of ‘public protection’ at the expense of the public purse…

I see that Ian Bickers, the London regional prisons director, announced on LinkedIn last week that he had resigned from the prison service but does not have a role to go to. He was a man of great integrity and experience.
