Just to remind everyone, here are a few snippets of the internal PwC emails released by the Senate, with email addresses and signatures which clearly establish international PwC staff engaged with explicitly confidential Australian government information.

So someone was paid $2.4m in GST refunds after falsely claiming to have spent $24m in business costs . . . and someone else asked for $32.3m refund after claiming $323m in expenses. And the ATO twigged something was dodgy about the second guy.

Still can't believe that the amazing Patrick Abboud who co-hosted the Walkleys last night is my old neighbour! I think we ended up with his mattress when he went overseas (yeah, now I'm worried that he'll want it back). Patrick is always impressive.

A very long line of people contributed to this saga. The outstanding AFR newsroom; and also the many people in parliament, at the TPB, the ATO and PwC who made it possible for this story to come out. We’re in their debt.

It was 'more than appropriate' at the height of the ATO-PwC dispute, for PwC to fly 2nd Commissioner Jeremy Hirschhorn to Paris & put him up for 2 nights at the Vendome Hotel for a speech at their conference. Apparently all Paris hotels look like this. afr.com/companies/prof…
