Came across this lovely community ‘library’ whilst on my daily walk in #highgate. A great idea and thank you to whoever built the home for the books.

I cannot think of a better person to be elected #Chancellor of University of Oxford! She brings compassion, experience, future-thinking combined with a steely determination to ensure Oxford remains at the forefront of world education, but becomes more open and inclusive.

This is Cicely Delphine Williams. She was one of the first women to study medicine at Somerville College. She then undertook paediatric training at the South London Hospital for Women and Children, and in 1923 became the first female doctor from Jamaica. #IWD2025

Daphne was an amazing person. I got to know her much later, after she retired from the Foreign office and took up the post of Principal Somerville College
