When asked to identify examples of political violence, majorities of Americans say the following are “definitely” examples:

🚩 The Jan 6th storming of the U.S. Capitol (57% “definitely”)

🚩 The plot to kidnap and murder Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (51% “definitely”)

55% of battleground constituents say that Republicans in Congress prioritized their economic priorities around the wealthy and corporate interests.

Less than 3 in 10 say they cater their policies to the middle and working class.

PARTIES IN THE BATTLEGROUND:

🐴 Democrats are more trusted to protect consumers (net +8), look out for “people like me” (net +4), and “grow the middle class” (net +3).

🐘 Republicans are more trusted to handle the economy (net +8) and fight inflation (net +8).

As Trump supports state bans on reproductive care, majorities of Americans say it should be EASIER to access in-clinic abortions (51%), medication abortion (53%), and IVF (62%).

Less than 3 in 10 support making abortion access more difficult, with even less wanting to limit IVF.

We’re a week out from Trump’s statement in support of Florida’s 6-week abortion ban. Now, he’s seeking to make abortion a states’ rights issue.

However, both our national AND battleground polls have shown that Americans have remained steady in their opposition to abortion bans.

💬 MESSAGING INSIGHT: 47% of battleground constituents initially support extending the Trump tax cuts.

However, support swings by -43 points when constituents learn how much the wealthy have benefitted from these tax cuts and how much the cuts would add to the deficit.
