I support students' right to protest, even when they do things with which I disagree or that make me uncomfortable. Nothing they do or say is as dangerous as militarized cops trampling upon freedom of speech. I am more afraid of tyranny than my students' words and deeds.

No student loan forgiveness for politicians who vote to gut public funding for higher education. Oh, wait, these rich tools don't have to borrow money to go to school.

I don't get the sense that this dude has any idea what goes on at the thousands of small, underfunded, public liberal arts colleges across the country, where state legislatures and governors have been slowly strangling these vital institutions for decades.

Let me guess. We are going to see massive infusions of funds into the liberal arts colleges where these questions are discussed every day.......

LOL. I think one member of our president's cabinet has a Ph.D and only two have teaching experience of any sort. Lots of M.Ed and Ed.D degrees.

The tents on our campus are for our adjuncts, not protestors. This ain’t the Ivy League.

As a historian at a public university I have grown accustomed to getting nothing in return for extraordinary effort. What I refuse to get used to is having to pay money to give extraordinary effort.

Nothing more devastating than learning that a student on campus chose to end his life. To my friends in Higher Ed, please treat your students with kindness and respect. Always. You control so little, but you can always control how well you treat these wonderful people.

Guys, I am beginning to think that 'Human Resources' is not human at all.

The #Eclipse2024 is right around the corner. Before you say something dumb about how eclipses befuddled Indigenous peoples, maybe think twice.
