Today as part of our #BlackHistoryMonth celebrations we are celebrating British rapper, journalist, author, activist and poet Akala. His works have been shared with our staff as part of our race bookclub to promote inclusion National Ambulance BME Forum #NativesRaceAndClassInTheRuinsofEmpire

You may recognise Shumel from his recent appearance on BBC Ambulance, the work he does in the local community as a Newcastle City Councillor or the support he gives Show Racism the Red Card. He works hard within North East Ambulance Service to support inclusion and ensure equity for all National Ambulance BME Forum
