Just another Monday in the DHA world with Military Health System MHS Genesis.
This is roughly a weekly occurrence.
Anyone considering or needs to know about this and the litany of other issues with military medicine right now!

Saying MHS Genesis 'needs further improvements' is like saying an abandoned shack needs 'some work.'

There are 2 simple steps to fix Military Health System MHS Genesis:
1. Delete Genesis
2. Get Epic like we should have done in the first place.

750 hours of clinicals is too much?🤣🤣🤣
I had more than 750 hours of clincials in internal medicine and I’m an orthopaedic surgeon!
At least go to 600 hours so NPs have the same amount of hands on training as Petco dog groomers!

This is a game changer.

Starting in 2026, medical schools will have to stop capping about their “100% Match rates” - which often count backup specialty matches, SOAP placements, PGY-1 only prelim matches, and research years as if they were unadulterated success stories.

Excellent news! Medical schools that don’t have a 100% match rate or damn near should have that data known especially since they tend to be a lot of newer DO schools with ma$$ive tuition costs.

Big news from the NRMP:

Starting in 2026, there will be *public* reporting of match outcomes for medical schools and applicant demographic data for programs.

I didn’t make this but damn is it accurate!
Except instead of 5 crappy medical records systems, we now have 1 horrible system.

Things that have gone down since ACA was passed:

1) physician ownership in hospitals
2) physician pay compared to inflation
3) access to care

Imagine being this desperate for money that you’d scam people out of money claiming this unproven bullshit is going to help their hip labral tear.
We get it, you can’t do surgery so you think surgery is bad. We also get it that you don’t understand how to read the literature.

I couldn’t agree more. As staff works on skeleton crews but the admin suites are fully manned and overall unseen, I question their necessity.
Guess they can schedule more meetings with themselves they have to attend..?
