Thank you for raising this really important consideration.

I have internal battles about my own thoughts on this topic.

Whilst now I can confidently say what I would not want to live with or like… what happens if I changed my mind on that journey? 😕😕

Visited a fab care home today whose collective pride & joy is their greenhouse! 🏡

Growing in there were herbs, tomato’s & lettuces to use in meals 🍅🥬🪴

Around the garden; bird feeders, fence paint, sweeping brush - life goes on in care homes! 🪣🧹🐦

“The physical & mental health benefits of touch” Graham Firth

A fab read 👀📖

Particularly pertinent as I spent an hour today, hand in hand with a woman living with who only had sounds & movement at her disposal. Our convo didn’t need words

The amount of messages I get like this.

I really don’t mind one bit, I’ll always help where I can, but how on earth are we still in a position where people living with in there lives do not have ready & clear access to support from the get go & throughout the journey?

Yesterday I supported a resident to go to Asda for some new things! 💚

He left with a steak & ale pie, cauliflower cheese, goose fat roasties & a trophy shaped mug!

All of which he enjoyed for his tea! 🥧🥔🏆

Life goes on with & in care homes 🤷🏼‍♀️🏡 Community Champion

Natasha Wilson - Dementia Care Manager Too right Natasha! Infantilising and also diminishes the person’s swallow, which is already at risk in dementia 😡 I genuinely have no idea who the things are any good for!
