Our first real taste of fall weather will occur this weekend. It will be ideal if you like cooler weather as temps will be 10-15 degrees below normal. You'll probably want a jacket once the sun goes down as it will get pretty chilly. A few record lows are possible Sunday morning.

A cold front passing through the region will result in widely scattered showers and thunderstorms this morning. A different scene is on track for this afternoon with mostly sunny and breezy conditions. Highs will be cooler than Thursday with readings in the mid 70s to mid 80s.

Expect a cool and dry fall-like Friday night with temperatures around sunset being in the mid 50s to low 60s. Overnight lows will be even chillier with temperatures in the mid 40s to low 50s! #mowx #ilwx #midmowx #stlwx

This weekend will be out of this world! Highs in the 70s, low humidity, and clear skies are forecast. Unless your favorite weather is cold, cloudy, and wet (there's nothing wrong with that), this will be a perfect weekend for outdoor activities! #mowx #ilwx #stlwx

Clear skies overnight will allow Saturn 🪐to be visible from sunset to sunrise🔭! Otherwise with chilly lows in the low to mid 40s, these will be the coldest temperatures since April 25th for St. Louis and Columbia, & since May 5th for Quincy. #stlwx #mowx #ilwx #midmowx #Saturn

Conditions were favorable for cool temperatures this morning—the coolest temperatures of the season so far, in fact. Some rural & low-lying areas even saw temperatures dip into the 30s F! Refreshing or too cold? #stlwx #mowx #ilwx

Temperatures warm back up this week under a ridge of high pressure. Rain chances sneak back in by the end of the week, but that will depend on what happens in the Tropics.

It's been a while since we've seen rain. This week is looking dry with one possible exception: A tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico may track near the region on Friday. If it does so it will bring our best rain chances. Otherwise we stay dry.

Fog will be present in some of the valleys and low-lying areas this morning, especially the river valleys. The visibility could drop below ½ mile and cause rapidly changing road conditions for the morning commute. Leave extra room between you and the next car.

A gradual warm-up will commence today with above normal temperatures Tues and Wed. The chance of needed rainfall is looking a bit better for Thursday night and Friday due to the potential track of a tropical system now in the Gulf of Mexico.

Highs near 90 degrees today and tomorrow will remind us that it's still (astronomical) summer, at least for the next two weeks! Anyone up for a post-Labor Day swim?

There is a potential for beneficial rainfall late this week as the remnants of Tropical Cyclone Francine enter our region. Pictured are *potential* rainfall amounts, but remember - the forecast will likely change, and it's dependent on Francine's track.
