Most areas will warm up again on Thursday with afternoon breezes. The warming peaks on Friday with lighter winds. However, sharply colder weather with gusty winds and increasing chances for valley rain and high-elevation snow return for the weekend.

Seasonable temps & breezy winds will prevail Tue, except areas near the OR border will see cooler conditions. Cooler air will spread south across the region Wed. Temps will then quickly to above avg by Fri and Sat. Increased breezes & a chance of showers may return this weekend.

Scattered mountain snow and valley rain showers are on tap this afternoon into the overnight hours. Light, slushy snow accumulations down to Sierra pass levels overnight may create slick road conditions for the Fri AM commute, but overall impacts will be minimal.
