An ice jam has recently developed on the Nushagak River above Dillingham, as captured by satellite imagery. The jam has caused water levels to rise upstream, yet floodwaters remain contained within the floodplain, posing no immediate threat to upstream communities.

These events, while not rare, go mostly unnoticed due to our topographically diverse area.

Does it feel like there's been a lot of snow melt as of late around Anchorage? Here at our office, our snow depth has dropped down from 22 to 3 inches since April 9th!

With highs in the 50s the next couple of days, more melting should be on the way!
