We're delighted to announce that the art exhibition 'A Landscape Painter's Perspective' by Peter Hicks has been extended until Sunday 15 September, so there’s plenty of time to see the exhibition if you’ve not had a chance so far! bit.ly/3XiopoD

The floor is alive! We noticed today that every dry twig and leaf has been carefully collected by these wood ants to build up their nest…. Just wonderful to watch…. #EveryoneNeedsNature

It is really so inspiring to see the changes made in just one year. So many other species are now benefitting from the incredible work of the beavers here at Wallington National Trust in the North National Trust Environment Agency - Yorkshire & North East Beaver Trust #beaverreintroduction #transforminglandscapes

Beningbrough's new Mediterranean Garden opened last week and we're still in awe 💚 (yes this is Yorkshire!) Designed by award-winning garden designer Andy Sturgeon, its pollinator-friendly plantings and climate-resilient approach make it a unique new space to explore and relax.

Shout-out to Sizergh's professional garden snoozer and sunbather, Charlie, this #BlackCatAppreciationDay 🐈‍⬛ The real king of the castle, you'll mostly find him sleeping on the job, although sometimes he turns his paws to planning next year's planting scheme🧐

Before & After pictures of work carried out by our West Team Rangers at Loft Beck. The beck had washed out the path and a large retaining wall. The pictures don't really show the scale as the stones in the wall are the size of a large suitcase and moved with a mechanical winch!

If you could pick anyone to join you on the giant deck chair who would you chose? Apart from the gardening team, we'd pick the first & last abbots of the abbey; Richard (1132-1139) & Marmaduke Bradley (1536-1539). Imagine how amazing it'd be to reflect on the history of the site!

The blue skies yesterday really suited the newly opened Mediterranean Garden Beningbrough - National Trust . It was great to see it buzzing with life; loads of bumblebees, butterflies, hoverflies, and visitors enjoying the many unusual plants. #YorkshireGardens #PeatFree

Exciting puffin news from the Farne Islands!📣 The puffin count results are in and numbers are up by 15%, with the population declared as ‘stable’. It’s the first full survey of the precious sea birds since 2019, due to restrictions as a result of Covid and bird flu.
