Another way to identify varieties of daffodils is to look at when they flower. Pheasant's eye (narcissus poeticus var. recurvus) is a lovely daffodil and is very common at this time of year. It is a wild variant, and is a couple of centuries old at least. #NationalGardeningWeek

The Primrose Peerless (narcissus x medioluteus) often grows with two flowers on one stem. The first mention of this variety has been found in literature from the sixteenth century! It is another wild variety and is also currently in flower in the garden! #NationalGardeningWeek
