My second #heritageweek2024 event was to present the a(swards) at the inaugural National Scything Championships in Rathbeagh. My rye humour a scythe, for those who made the cut it was a proud day. I even tried my hand at it; most enjoyable!

NPWS recently attended the 14th EU Conference on Ecological Restoration #SERE24 hosted by Estonia, home to a wide range of peatland types such as the fens & transition mires at Alam-Pedja Nature Reserve. The NPWS National Fen Survey is underway & results to be published in 2025.
