This week we smashed our instruction writing! We sequenced the recipe, added some toppings and ate some yummy pancakes! Finally we wrote instructions independently! The lemon was “spicy”😂 🥞🍋Fernielea School

Last week we learnt about Scottish Artist Steven Brown and his work. We used oil pastels to work on his rainbow technique. This week we created our own rainbow masterpieces inspired by his style! Fernielea School Steven Brown Art

Today we were learning about a new Scottish artist and their style! This involved learning how to use watercolours and how to create different shades! We also managed to link where he was from to our map work and find Glasgow on a map! Can’t wait to finish them🌹Fernielea School

Today we listened to our peers present about their cultures and then tasted foods from Hungary, Poland, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Scotland & Canada! It was very yummy! Fernielea School

We got to release our butterflies today. Miss Dyker was starting to panic with it being so close to the holidays but today they were ready! 🦋 P1T and P2 joined us to watch them fly away. Fernielea School @munro_miss

Yesterday we tried some outdoor learning for the first time. We went out and looked for signs of Autumn starting , for some living things, seeds and different types of plants. Fernielea School

Today we were revising our learning of numbers to 20, shapes and patterns. Fernielea School

Some of our new active maths stations. It was challenging to remember our number bonds to 20 and our formation of numbers! We did enjoy exploring the numicon and someone managed to make 200 by combining two squares together! ⭐️ Fernielea School

Some of our literacy stations today. The splat game is a new letter finding activity and drawing club this week is looking at The Smartest giant in town- we focused on characters and kindness! Fernielea School

Yesterday we collected leaves and then used them to draw, create colour patterns using autumn colours and we also looked at texture by using a variety of materials to colour with. Fernielea School

As part of our harvest community project the children have decided to ask for donations of old toys, paper for drawing, colouring books, board games, puzzles, small world toys etc to be distributed to classes within school. Perfect for a pre-Christmas clear out! Fernielea School

As part of our harvest assembly we are asking for food donations to go Aberdeen North food bank this year. Please bring in food donations week beginning 9th October to be donated after our assembly on the 11th. Fernielea School
