In November, CPI rose 0.2% over the past two months and 2.7% over the past year. NFIB’s November SBET report found that a net 34% of small businesses have already raised prices, the highest reading since March 2023 and the largest monthly jump in the survey’s history.

The BLS reported that the U.S. economy added 50,000 jobs in December and the unemployment rate dropped to 4.4%. Also in December, NFIB’s jobs report found that a net 17% of small business owners plan to hire soon, and 33% have unfilled job openings.
