Today we honor 82 firefighters lost in 2019 and 21 from previous years. Please take the time today to reflect on their sacrifice and the families and loved ones left behind. Thanks to the NFFF for a moving tribute held virtually due to the pandemic. #Honoring America’s Fallen

After our recent experiments, we teamed up with Philadelphia Fire fire marshals & ATF Philadelphia Arson Task Force members to continue examining the impact of ventilation on the fire patterns - a key area of interest due to changes in ventilation during the fires.

This week, in between our FEMA Grants Search & Size-Up experiments, we collaborated with IAAI, US Fire Marshals and FDNY to collect samples from the fire scenes and examine the post-fire risk exposures to fire investigators. Samples were taken at 1hr, 1, 3, and 5 days after the fire.
