We recently thoroughly enjoyed the company of a great group from London Herstory Tours organised by Mandy Morrow. They are all now more the wiser about all things #PeekFreans, #Bermondsey & #SE16 in general

#CreamTeaHour @PeekFrean Just one post tonight as I won’t be at home until later. Here’s some biscuits for tonight’s tea table from 1948,because WW2 hadn’t been over long lots of foodstuffs were rationed. Mr Peek and Mr Frean often told it as it was in rhyme.#CreamTeaHour (10 Years)

We get lots of comments about the #PeekFrean digital clocks. There were 2 clocks at either end of the factory warehouse, facing the railway line. They replaced a Victorian clock tower which was demolished in the late 60s This is from a 1970 #Peeks staff magazine #BricklayersArms

For completeness here’s a photo of the old Victorian clock tower at #PeekFreans (courtesy of our friend James Roll) which was demolished in late 60s and replaced with the digital clocks we highlighted in yesterdays post. The 2nd photo is slightly earlier, courtesy of Gary Magold

One of the hundreds of items on display in the museum is this Peek Freans Teddy Bear Biscuit advertising token from 1920s/30s. We also have a tin and a biscuit sized advert for the biscuit itself...in the shape of a bear! Do you have one, maybe passed on by a relative? #TeddyBear

This is Ted & Patricia Dennington (nee Bstes) on their wedding day in November 1958 with their wedding cake made at Peek Freans. Pat worked in the Accounts office from 1955 & interestingly she tells us that they were given only the top tier free! What a wonderful photo ❤️

If, in 1906, you'd worked for Peek Freans for 25 years, you'd have received this Walker & Hall silver spoon. Does anyone else have any long service momentos? #silverspoon #walkerandhall

From our friend Joanne Hopkins, the clock presented to her grandfather Charles Richard Thomas Martin on completion of 40 years service at Peek Freans, 1919 - 1959. Upon his retirement Mr Martin looked after the garden on the roof of the warehouse building in Clements Road
