This morning, we proudly began our day with Black Fire, our Black Student Leadership Team, who grounded us Dr. Gholdy Muhammad’s framework. They created a powerful land acknowledgement, connecting our HWDSB values, Indigenous teachings, the land, and ancestral wisdom.

Guided by Ms. Speedie and Ms. Toogood, students planted a traditional Three Sisters Garden—honouring Haudenosaunee agricultural teachings. This land-based learning experience deepens our understanding of Indigenous knowledge, sustainability, and interconnectedness. 🌽🫘🌱
