Hungry for some knowledge? 🧠 Join Lamont Lions at the Lions Cafe for our black history month book tasting. 📖 Students tasted books anywhere from nonfiction, fiction, biographies, and even digital books being read to students. What a fun way to celebrate black history month! 🫶

Busy week in 1st grade! Affirmations pot of gold craft in health. Shadow investigation in science. Constructing our own 3D shapes while learning their attributes in math. Reading then comparing and contrasting technology used in different careers. #handsonlearning

#flashback to that time 1st grade celebrated the end of the year with a Chick-fil-A, Inc. party! "CHICK"- out these 2nd graders! Hmmm. Thinking about maybe doing this again at the end of this year. 🤔

In Social Studies this week, first grade had two new vocabulary words to learn. Ever see a vocabulary lesson look like this? We learned about producers and consumers by producing a yummy trail mix bag, and then we consumed the yummy trail mix bag.

Anytime I notice my students lose focus when the weather finally breaks, then I break out stations or "math the room" activities to get everyone moving, working together and staying on task!
